A roadside country church where everyone is someone and Jesus Christ is Lord
Fair Haven Independent Baptist Church
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
This final step on our path offers comfort to all those that may think they are beyond saving. Maybe they think they weren’t born with a certain social status or they weren’t raised in a Christian home, or maybe they feel they are more undeserving than others and therefore can’t be saved the same way as them.
We’ve probably all heard someone at some point say something like “There’s no way I could make it into Heaven because of all the bad things I’ve done”. That’s the beauty of it. It doesn’t matter how good or how bad we have lived. It doesn’t matter where we came from. It doesn’t matter how much or how little we have. We ALL have the exact same opportunity for salvation.
Here’s the biggest point. If we say we can’t be saved because of how bad we have been, that would insinuate we would not need salvation if we have lived good enough. That goes against everything we have learned along Romans Road.
At the end of the day, we are all born “in the same boat”. We ALL commit offence and we ALL are condemned to death but thanks to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ we can ALL be saved.
As was mentioned earlier, simply reciting words can't save you. Only following the direction we have received can. This direction has told us we need to realize our need for salvation, understand and truly believe there is only one solution, then confessing to God our belief and need and asking for the help He has provided.
Having said that, here is a simple prayer meant as an example of a prayer for salvation. While you can feel free to use these exact words, please know they will do you no good unless your truly believe and mean what they say:
"Lord I understand that no matter how hard I try I am a sinner. I understand the cost of my sin and I know there is only one solution. Please accept my plea for salvation claimed in the name of your Son and the sacrifice He's made for me. Amen"
If this has been your prayer today, Fair Haven Baptist Church would like to be the first to welcome you to the Family of God. Please know your journey will not be without challenges and trials. The bible tells us:
1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
This means Satan will do anything he can to damage your relationship with God. But make no mistake about it, he can't take away your salvation. He doesn't like it when we are pleasing to God because our actions may lead others to salvation of their own.
If he can create doubt in your mind, that will distance you from God and damage your testimony to others. Please learn to trust in God's word which has assured us in this study that we can be truly saved. It's a narrow path and there is only one route to take, but Romans Road has shown us God's plan for us and that makes it a perfect plan.
As you continue on your walk with God, or if you have questions about any part of this study, Fair Haven Baptist Church is here for you to help in any way we can. Feel free to visit our contact us page to send us a message or give us a call.
May God richly bless you in all you do!
